Leeds engineers RWO has won undisclosed contract work to support the investment and development of new industrial units at a North Yorkshire business park.
The move sees the firm set to provide civil and structural engineering services to business park owner and operator Potter Space, to support the design and build of its new 17,445 sq. ft. commercial unit at Melmerby, close to the A1 (M).
The development is part of Potter Space’s continuing expansion of its operations at its base near Ripon and comes after RWO provided construction engineering services for a newly completed 4,000 sq. ft. industrial unit at the same location.
This is the latest success for RWO, which recently took an additional 1,000 sq. ft. of space at its Park Place office, more than doubling current office capacity to meet demand.
Currently employing 22 people and targeting revenues in excess of £2m in the next 12 months, the work is among several new clients RWO has picked-up that are driving growth. These include Yorkshire-based construction companies ESH and ISG, and Erris Homes in Leeds and Seagate Homes in Lincolnshire.
Andrew Fairburn, head of RWO’s Leeds office, said: “This is another prestigious project for us, reflecting our ability to take a strategic view of investment projects from an engineering and design perspective for clients while delivering high quality work.
“Our commercial offering continues to grow, and this new success comes when we will see even more growth in 2021 as we secure new contracts across the region and the UK.”
Jenna Strover, head of commercial delivery at Potter Space, said: “RWO are a key partner and, together with our in-house construction team led by John Royle, will ensure our developments are delivered on time as we continue to invest and expand to meet high demand for smaller industrial premises.”
