Onward Holdings Ltd will be launching another warehouse to the market in 2023 after multi-million pound renovations are completed to the facility in Good Hope Close on the Normanton Industrial Estate in the heart of Yorkshire.
The 63,980sqft multi-purpose warehouse is ideal for a variety of businesses looking for a distribution hub in the north of England. With easy access to the nation’s motorway network – located less than half a mile from junction 31 on the M62 – Onward is modernising the site including building a new roof, floors and installing exterior cladding to deliver a sophisticated finish.
Good Hope Close benefits from a significant 2 MVA power supply, ideal for a manufacturer or for serving e-commerce and distribution occupiers for potential electric vehicle points. The facility has no internal columns and a maximum apex height of 11 metres which allows businesses to optimise their storage space. The warehouse also benefits from generous yard capacity.
With a genuine focus on sustainability, the main structural steel portals and concrete from the original building on the site has been refurbished and re-used for the extensive upgrade (these being the most significant emissions contributor of a new build), which also features modernised offices benefiting from an excellent EPC B rating. The unit offers an ideal gateway to UK markets for sectors such as e-commerce, logistics, food, manufacturing, parcel carriers, high end goods and packaging.
Onward director, Neil Storey, says: “There’s a real buzz around the forthcoming release of Good Hope Close. We bought the site knowing that it was dilapidated and needed a massive upgrade. We planned for an extensive refurbishment. We currently have very good occupation rates so we’re always on the lookout to expand our portfolio of industrial units in the Yorkshire region.”
Iain McPhail of Knight Frank is working alongside Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors of Sheffield promoting the Good Hope Close unit.
In addition to Good Hope Close, Onward Holdings offers a range of logistics options to suit most budgets, together with additional value-added warehouse services. The different facilities that the company can supply will help businesses gain a vital foothold in the northern supply chain. Onward also built Onyx Retail Park, the successful shopping and eating destination on the former Manvers colliery in South Yorkshire.
