Sep 22, 2013 Warehousing Ireland News Comments Off on Military service for Flexi
Flexi Narrow Aisle has supplied Flexi articulated forklift truck technology to NATO – the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
The Flexi very narrow aisle lift trucks will be used to support NATO’s ongoing efforts in Kosovo.
Nato’s peace keeping role in Kosovo is now largely confined to search and rescue operations, explosive ordnance disposal, control and clearance of hazardous materials, fire-fighting and other humanitarian assistance tasks.
The Flexi articulated forklift trucks will be put to work at NATO’s facility in Pristina where they will be used to improve space utilisation and efficiency in the stores that handle the broad range of equipment and kit required to sustain the men and women of the Kosovo Security Force in their important work.
This is not the first time the Flexi has seen military service: Flexi trucks have been in operation at logistics centres in Afghanistan, for several years.
Flexi Narrow Aisle’s sales and marketing director, John Maguire, commented: “It is testament to the Flexi’s reliability and robust build quality that our trucks are ‘seeing action’ in such intense environments as Kosovo. We are clearly delighted that our products are able to play a small part in improving the lives of people in what is still a difficult part of the world.”
