Apr 13, 2014 Warehousing Ireland News Comments Off on LFM to preview new mobile technology at SPAR International
Enhanced LFM NetView offers tablet operation for more efficient project execution and asset management
LFM Software Limited, a SPAR International sponsor, will be previewing its upcoming release of LFM NetView 4.0 at the event. This release introduces mobile technology to the LFM suite of products for the first time. LFM NetView 4.0 enables users to remotely access, review, and add intelligence to the laser scan dataset, providing a powerful tool for project collaboration and asset management.
Its seamless connection to the LFM master dataset enables all stakeholders to simultaneously and securely access and share huge databases. As with all LFM products, the new release provides access to an unlimited number of scans without loss of resolution, enabling more efficient project execution.
This latest update of LFM NetView will introduce truly unique 3D mark-up functionality, combined with tablet operation. An offline mode will enable users to take laser scan data on-site, to mark-up areas and attributes and to collaborate using the master dataset when back online. Tablet support, along with simple, remote access to the laser scan data, delivers the exact as-built status of a facility to project and operations teams much more rapidly.
“SPAR International is the perfect environment to preview this latest technology,” said Gary Farrow, Vice President 3D Data Capture, LFM. “With the conference focus on the future of data capture technologies and so many of our customers and partners in attendance, we will be able to get direct feedback from a broad potential user base as we approach the product launch. Our goal is to broaden the use of laser scan data across the entire asset life cycle so that everyone can benefit from its incredible value.”
SPAR International takes place at The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, 14 – 17, April. As well as previews of LFM NetView 4.0, Gary Farrow will be presenting on Scan Data Management. point3D, an LFM Value Added Reseller, will be co-presenting on Hand-held Laser Scan for Validation. This presentation will cover the use of a hand-held laser scanner on a petrochemical facility, utilising LFM’s technology to provide a CAD update.
