On June 4 Jungheinrich was honoured at the first-ever “International Forklift Truck of the Year” (IFOY) awards ceremony. The Hamburg-based company was the winner in two out of four categories.
The winning trucks from Jungheinrich consisted of the DFG/TFG 540s IC Counterbalanced forklift produced in Moosburg (in the “Counter Balanced Trucks over 3.5 Tons” category) and the ETV/ETM 216 reach truck from the Norderstedt plant (in the “Warehouse Trucks” category).
“This award is both an incentive and an honour for Jungheinrich,” declared Hans-Georg Frey, Head of the Jungheinrich Board of Management. “We are pleased that our R&D expenditures have resulted in a further international distinction for our company.”
Frey noted that the sizable number of innovations submitted for the competition as well as the high-calibre jury made up of well-known trade journalists from several nations meant the award stood a good chance of becoming an internationally recognised intralogistics award – analogous to the “International Truck of the Year Award” for commercial vehicles.
Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
