Leading materials handling solutions specialist, the Jungheinrich Group, has announced that in the first four months of 2015 its global sales increased by 9 per cent to 846 million euros compared to the same period in 2014. The total number of units produced by the group during this time was 30,600 trucks – up by 8 per cent on the previous year’s figures.
The positive performance is being driven in part by the strength of the Western European market where forklift sales have grown by 17 per cent.
Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG, commented: “Having updated our manufacturing sites and significantly expanded our production capacity in the last few years, stepping up our sales activities has become our top priority. To this end, we will enlarge the existing sales and service network, establishing new Jungheinrich sales and service companies in the process.”
Mr Frey added: “Jungheinrich’s main construction projects such as the training centre at our Norderstedt factory, the modernisation of our counterbalanced truck plant at Moosburg, the expansion of our Dresden Used Equipment Centre as well as the new corporate headquarters in Hamburg form a major part of our activity.”
This year, Jungheinrich’s capital expenditures on fixed assets will total between 90 and 100 million euros.
