Jun 26, 2021 Warehousing Ireland News, Storage, Warehousing Comments Off on Ideally-located & secure HGV storage & warehousing site for rent at Cranford, near Kettering
Land agent King West have listed the Staveley Yard site at Cranford near Kettering for rent on the open market this month. The Midlands site provides a fantastic commercial opportunity for secure, 24 hour HGV storage and retail warehousing.
Demand for commercial space has been ramping up ever since the Covid-19 crisis caused UK consumers to turn more to online retailers. Internet shopping has certainly been a lifeline to many during the last 12 months. As a result of this, figures for 2020 and the first quarter of 2021 have seen a record take-up in warehousing space across the East Midlands, cementing the region’s status as a key location for logistics activities.
However, this rapid growth has led to a shortage of suitable commercial space for the logistics sector and developers must ensure there is going to be enough stock to meet future demand. Simply put, the current high demand for commercial warehousing has led to a decrease in the amount of property available on the rental market.
King West are therefore pleased to announce they are openly marketing a four acre storage site east of the village of Cranford, Kettering (Northamptonshire). Staveley Yard is in a perfect location for HGV and other storage uses. The site is situated just off Junction 11 on the A14. The A14 provides easy access onto both the A1 (19 miles) and M1/M6 (27 miles) motorways.
The site includes 6,685 sq. ft. of buildings, suitable for a range of uses, as well as a four acre surfaced storage yard with space for up to 55 HGVs. The site is on the market to be rented as a whole or in lots and provides a perfect opportunity for a haulage company, local retailer or logistics business.
The site is accessed via secure electric gates and benefits from CCTV, secure perimeter fencing and lighting. There is a WC and bathroom facilities which are due to upgraded by the landlord.
Ben Ainscough, Director at King West, said: “Despite considerable efforts by developers, there is currently a significant gap between the supply and demand for warehouse space and HGV storage in the Midlands. The shortage in commercial property has been caused largely by the nationwide growth of the online retail market.
“Staveley Yard, near Kettering, is therefore a fantastic prospect for the logistics sector and we expect to receive considerable interest in the site. Well-located, secure storage sites containing good quality warehousing are highly sought after in the current market, so it is great news that this site has come onto the market this month. We are pleased to be plugging some of the shortage gap with this valuable commercial property.”
