Aug 20, 2016 Warehousing Ireland Materials Handling, News Comments Off on Global brands join International Forklift Operator of the Year 2016
As the first phase of the contest comes to a close, the International Forklift Operator Award 2016 continues to grow in stature as RTITB announces further sponsors from leading material handling businesses and organisations with the shared values of safety and efficiency.
Trucklog (Davis Derby) will be partnering with RTITB to make the Pre-Use inspection test the best incarnation yet. This test will be one of the live challenges taking place during the exciting finals at IMHX from 13th-16th September where 40 of the best scoring forklift truck drivers from the online testing phase, will compete for a place in the prestigious Grand Final of the award. The live heats will require drivers to go under the spot light and complete a theory test (sponsored by Transaid), pre-use test and two practical driving tests.
Racking and Storage Solutions are announced as the Racking Partner and will sponsor one of the practical driving tests, along with Pyroban. Dolav is confirmed as the Pallet Partner, supplying all pallets and containers used over the four days at IMHX.
The Personal Protective Equipment Partner for the event will be BACA Workwear and Safety, who will be ensuring that all those competing for the International Forklift Operator of the Year Award are suitably attired for safe lift truck operation throughout the event.
RTITB has also announced that the Food Storage and Distribution Federation (FSDF) and the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) will be official supporters of the 2016 Award.
“There are so many different elements that play a part in creating a safe and efficient materials handling environment,” says Laura Nelson, Managing Director at RTITB. “That’s why we’re thrilled that for the 2016 Award we can count on the support of a wide range of highly respected companies and organisations who, like RTITB, want to help promote the importance of safety and training and reward the safest forklift drivers on an international stage.”
Other sponsors of the competition include Manufacturer Partner UniCarriers, Charity Partner Transaid, Test Partner Pyroban, Barrier Partner McCue and Attachment Partner B&B Attachments. In addition, Forkliftaction.com is on board as an Event Supporter, and SHD Logistics magazine is the official Media Partner for 2016. There are limited opportunities available to join these partners and support RTITB in their quest to find the safest forklift operator in the world. To find out more about the remaining sponsorship options call Amy Southall on +44(0)1952520218 or email her at opofyear@rtitb.co.uk.
The first stage of the competition, an online test to assess entrants’ practical skills, theoretical knowledge, attitude and efficiency, closes on 10th August 2016. The 40 entrants that have qualified for a chance to compete in the next round of the Awards at IMHX will be announced shortly.
