FTA Multimodal 2017 Awards

Nov 27, 2016 Warehousing Ireland Events, Logistics, News Comments Off on FTA Multimodal 2017 Awards

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) Multimodal Awards 2017 are open for nominations online, and include a new category for Innovation in Infrastructure Projects.

Now in their second year, the Awards reward best-in-class across air, road, rail, and maritime services, as well as a young logistics professional, an innovative infrastructure project, and environmental best practice.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 4th April 2017 at the VOX in Birmingham, at the close of the first day of Multimodal 2017, which takes place between 4th April and 6th April at the Birmingham NEC.

“Multimodal provides an important platform for industry leaders to meet and find new ways to run more efficient supply chains,” said Robert Jervis, Managing Director, Supply Chain and Logistics, Clarion Events.

“Recognising excellence and showcasing best practice helps to ensure our industry continues to innovate, and we urge companies to take a few minutes to nominate themselves and their suppliers so that we can celebrate those achievements.”

Companies can nominate themselves or a supplier for the modal and forwarder categories using a simple online form at multimodal.org.uk.

The Young Professional and Innovation Awards can also be entered online, and judges will include David Wells, Chief Executive, FTA, Peter Ward, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), UK Warehouse Association (UKWA), Garry Mansell, CEO, Trade Extensions, Ariaen Zimmerman, Executive Director, Cargo iQ, and Robert Jervis.

Hosted by former England cricket captain and TV presenter David Gower OBE, 850 guests are expected to attend the Awards evening in Birmingham.

Multimodal 2017, now in its tenth year, brings logistics decision makers together with leading suppliers to network, grow business, and learn from the experts.

The FTA, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the UKWA will this year team up with Multimodal to host three days of seminars and workshops focused on supply chain best practice.

Topics will include the Brexit effect, managing risk in the supply chain and improving road safety, the impact of mega vessels, and air cargo quality initiatives.

A full list of seminars will be available in the New Year.

Multimodal 2016 was the biggest in the show’s history, with over 9000 logistics buyers visiting over 325 supply chain buyers at the free-to-attend show.

Next year’s show is already 70 per cent sold out and exhibitors include Agility, Maritime Transport, Malcolm Logistics, Port of Antwerp, CMA CGM Group, Yusen Logistics, and Heathrow Airport.
