The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA), whose membership comprises hundreds of the UK’s most respected fork lift truck dealers, manufacturers, suppliers and training companies has become an official supporter of the RTITB Operator of the Year Competition.
The RTITB Operator of the Year competition was established out of a desire to reward health and safety success in the lift truck operation field.
The bi-annual competition, which is sponsored by three of the most recognisable names in UK logistics (Toyota Material Handling UK, TNT Express Services UK and Ireland and Calor Gas Ltd), represents a key opportunity for employers and RTITB-accredited training organisations to prove their commitment to safe, efficient, correctly trained lift truck operators.
Owen Delaney, FLTA Technical Manager said: “The key aim of the FLTA’s Safe User Group is to promote safer working environments for those who work with and alongside fork lift trucks. Operators play a key role in ensuring a site’s safety, which is why we’ve chosen to support the Operator of the Year competition.”
With the finalist heats at the IMHX nearing, RTITB are delighted to welcome the FLTA on board. Laura Nelson, RTITB Operations Director expressed her delight at RTITB and FLTA working together for the first time. “The competition is designed to recognise and celebrate the success of hard working, efficient, and, above all, safe operators.
“The FLTA’s support of the competition demonstrates the competition’s growth in stature since its inception in 2008 and shows that the key players in our industry are committed to safe, effective lift truck operations.”
The finalist heats take place on stand 18N175 at the IMHX, NEC from 19th – 22nd March. The IMHX is free to attend and those wanting to visit can register at www.imhx.biz. To find out more about the competition, its sponsors and its supporters visit www.opofyear.com/.
