Nov 17, 2013 Warehousing Ireland News Comments Off on Flexi Narrow Aisle Helping the people of the Philippines
A Flexi articulated truck is at the heart of the British Red Cross’s efforts to bring humanitarian aid to the people of the Philippines as they strive to come to terms with the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan.
The truck is in operation around the clock at the British Red Cross’s warehouse in Bristol loading supplies such as computers, printers, vehicles, as well as water purification and sanitation kits, tents and other heavy duty kit in to containers that will fly out to the Philippines from East MIdlands airport.
The Red Cross’s Bristol warehouse was featured on a recent edition of the BBC 1 Breakfast News in an item dedicated to the Philippines relief effort and the Flexi was shown going about its vital work.
The British Red Cross has sent a team to the Philippines capital, Manila, which is being deployed to Cebu, where the British Red Cross has a distribution hub.
Flexi Narrow Aisle’s Flexi articulated trucks are used by a number of other welfare and humanitarian aid organisations around the world including the World Health Organisation and USAid.
