Jan 12, 2020 Warehousing Ireland Awards, Product Launch Comments Off on Driverless tow-tractor’s leading position recognised with award nomination
EasyMile’s autonomous electric tow-tractor, TractEasy, has been short-listed by the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award 2020 for the greatest maturity of its kind.
Toulouse, 7 January, 2020 – EasyMile’s flexible solution for moving goods autonomously is in the running as one of the year’s best intralogistics products and system solutions for the IFOY Award in the AGV/Robot category.
The TractEasy is a driverless tow-tractor that not only facilitates a significant increase in productivity, efficiency, labour and maintenance savings but also allows enhanced safety and process compliance. It is especially designed for complex, indoor and outdoor industrial use and is customisable to specific needs.
To date, there is no other product as mature on the market.
Gilbert Gagnaire, CEO of EasyMile said, “Key drivers for automation are increased productivity and lower operational costs. We worked hard on responding to these with the TractEasy. Our experience in the sector and ability to offer a serviceable commodity is a real benefit for our clients.”
The solution achieved a world-first with its pilot at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan last year and is in use today without a safety driver onboard at the PSA factory in Sochaux, France.
EasyMile will present the TractEasy at the IFOY Test Days at Hannover Messe from 12-13 February 2020.
