Aug 30, 2015 Warehousing Ireland Logistics, News Comments Off on Cronus Logistics shortlisted as a finalist for the Global Freight Awards
After rigorous evaluation by a panel of leading industry experts, Warrenpoint-based Cronus Logistics – who offer a premier door to door logistics service between the UK and Ireland – has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2015 Global Freight Awards in the Sea Freight Solutions Provider of the Year category.
The Global Freight Awards is one of the most prestigious freight and logistics awards of the year honouring individuals and companies that have excelled in all areas of the industry.
Contestants entering the Sea Freight Solutions Provider of the Year category needed to demonstrate that they have a drive for innovation and continuous improvement, and that they have over-exceeded their targets and delivered better service to the market.
Since initiation in 2014, Cronus Logistics has provided a truly innovative service uniquely linking the UK and Ireland through the ports of Bristol and Warrenpoint – establishing it as a new gateway on the Irish Sea.
Cronus Logistics operates its own ships, providing a standard 48 hour door to door transit from England & Wales to Ireland, breaking the mould of the more traditional LO/LO shipping services whilst simultaneously helping to reduce road miles and cut CO² emissions. Given that they have full control over both their vessels and the transportation on land, Cronus can control every element of the supply chain from the initial collection through to the ultimate delivery. Their vessels can accommodate their bespoke 45ft curtain-sided containers as well as the more standard 20ft and 40ft steel boxes and refrigerated containers.
In only 12 months Cronus Logistics has shown a real desire to offer a credible and viable supply chain operation across the Irish Sea, harnessing both their sea and road capabilities.
The Global Freight Awards winners will be announced at the official ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 19 November 2015.
