Apr 27, 2014 Warehousing Ireland News Comments Off on COA launches Global Container Depot Directory
The Container Owners Association (COA) has launched the first online, publicly available, Global Container Depot Directory.
“The COA has made it easy for shipping lines and container asset owners to locate a container depot anywhere in the world, with the introduction of a new directory featuring container repair and storage depots,” says Michael Callus, General Manager of the COA, who has led the project. “It is available for anyone to view on the COA website www.containerownersassociation.org.”
Featuring a potential listing of 1500 depots worldwide, the directory is easy to use with simple filters and sort functions to quickly identify specific requirements. Users are able to filter by available depot facilities including dry, reefer, storage and warehousing. Country and location filters further enhance the functionality of the directory.
“The Google Maps function has been used to give instant data about the areas in which the depots are positioned, providing a unique view of depot localities, whether at a port or near an inland terminal,” says Michael Callus. “We aim to keep the data accurate and welcome any new information about depots anywhere in the world.” Container depots will have the ability to update their records or can be added to the directory by completing a simple form online.
