Sep 19, 2015 Warehousing Ireland Events, News Comments Off on Briggs focuses on automotive handling solutions at North East Automotive Expo
A new event dedicated to promoting and meeting the needs of the thriving automotive industry in the North East of England is to receive support from leading materials handling specialist Briggs Equipment.
The company is exhibiting at the inaugural North East Automotive Expo, which aims to put the spotlight on future opportunities and challenges for the sector’s supply chain.
Around 300 delegates are expected to attend the industry-led event, which takes place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on September 24 and has been organised by the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA), with sponsorship from Sunderland City Council.
North East Automotive Expo is aimed at companies already working in the automotive industry and those looking to diversify into or set up in the sector. Along with test drives, live demonstrations and equipment displays, there will be opportunities to network and engage with major suppliers. Supply chain companies will promote knowledge sharing and best practice in a series of technical workshops.
Key decision makers are also invited to take part in ‘meet the buyer’ sessions with some of the region’s major automotive companies, including Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, Jaguar Land Rover, Nifco UK, Faltec Europe and Lear Corporation UK.
Les Knight, Yale sales director at Briggs Equipment, said: “We have wide experience within the automotive supply chain and exhibiting at the North East Automotive Expo will enable us to showcase our ability to create bespoke materials handling solutions for a variety of automotive companies.
“We look forward to discussing new business opportunities with industry buyers and influencers and to growing our network of contacts.”
Briggs Equipment will have a major presence at the show, with a display of Yale forklift trucks. It is the only exhibitor to take space outside, next to the entrance, as well as a large trade stand in the exhibition hall.
The North East Automotive Alliance is a major membership-based cluster group set up to promote and support the sustainable economic growth of the North East region’s automotive industry. A not-for-profit organisation, it aims to benchmark, share best practice and tackle common issues; provide access to skills and training; and drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies and processes. The NEAA also provides a single voice and interface with government bodies for key automotive industry stakeholders.
