IMHX 2016 preview for BITO Storage Systems,
Stand 9F80 at the NEC, Birmingham on 13-16 September
A highlight of IMHX 2016 is sure to be found on BITO Storage Systems’ stand (9F80) with the UK launch of an innovative driverless intralogistics transport solution that does not require any permanent fixtures – making it easy to implement, adapt or remove. LEO LOCATIVE is a ‘low-level’ Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) that simply follows red tape laid on the floor, which can be added to or removed whenever required. It does not require a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) or a central control computer. This makes LEO an agile, user-friendly option for all kinds of order picking operations – and it is particularly useful for ecommerce, order picking peaks and assembly processes.
BITO developed LEO at its manufacturing facilities in Meisenheim, Germany, where LEO has already been launched and received tremendous interest as an efficient and flexible low-level AGV solution that offers quick payback.
Also on BITO’s stand will be the company’s new EQ range of collapsible containers. Folding the sides of an empty EQ saves up to 75% on volume to provide a Euro-container option for transporting goods. Sized 600 x 400 mm at the base, the EQ container has two height options: 285 mm and 320 mm. It can accommodate loads of up to 20k kg. Depending on use, the ribbed base or double base options provide additional strength and rigidity.
Edward Hutchison, managing director of BITO Storage Systems said: “BITO will be having a bigger stand than ever at IMHX 2016 and we extend a warm welcome to anybody interested in storage and order picking solutions to come and chat to our highly experienced team – whether it’s about pallet racking systems, live storage, shelving, bins and containers or innovations such as LEO LOCATIVE. You can learn about our work with clients such as ASDA, Lidl, Alliance, AAH, Phoenix Healthcare, Jaguar Land Rover, Staples, Next, BMW and John Lewis.
“You can also find out how our brand new purpose built office, show room, experience centre and distribution centre facility – which is located in Nuneaton, just up the M42 from NEC – has doubled our stock holding capacity for our Fast Track 3-day service for intralogistics solutions.”
IMHX 2016 takes place on 13-16 September 2016, at the NEC, Birmingham.
