BITO’s SL86 heavy-duty plastic container has received the Red Dot Product Design 2012 Award. Inaugurated in 1955, The Red Dot Design Awards is now one of the world’s largest and most distinguished design competitions. This year, 4,515 entries from 58 nations competed for the title of one of the most relevant competitions in the world: the Product Design Award.
The BITO SL86 is an alternative to large-volume containers made of metal or wood. It is light yet sturdy and its dimensions meet the demands of today’s trend towards reduced batch sizes. Its basic dimensions are 80 x 60 cm, with a choice of two different heights. It has a load capacity of 500 kg and a stacking load of 1,500 kg.
The statement by the jury said of the BITO SL86: “This heavy-duty container is at once very light and sturdy, the latter due to its non-deforming, one-piece construction. In addition, its access hatch is convincing since it handles smoothly thanks to synchronised hinges.”
Edward Hutchison, MD at BITO Storage Systems, said: “The prestigious Red Dot Award is a strong endorsement of the quality of BITO’s products and adds to the other awards our product range has won. Quality is crucial criteria for our customers who will be relying on the containers in their supply chain operation.”
