Alastair Campbell to be celebrity host at UKWA Awards Lunch

May 03, 2024 Warehousing Ireland News, UKWA/AIWA, Warehousing Comments Off on Alastair Campbell to be celebrity host at UKWA Awards Lunch

The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has revealed that prolific writer, broadcaster and famous political strategist Alastair Campbell will be the special guest and celebrity host for this year’s UKWA Awards for Excellence Annual Lunch at the Royal Lancaster London on Wednesday 10 July.

This flagship event, attended by hundreds of guests from across the industry, celebrates outstanding achievement by companies and individuals in the warehousing sector with prestigious awards presented in ten categories. Finalists will be announced on Tuesday 7th May.

Commenting, Clare Bottle UKWA CEO said, “We are thrilled to have secured Alastair Campbell as our celebrity host for this year’s event, reflecting the importance of 2024 The Year of Warehousing and UKWA’s 80th Anniversary.

With an election in prospect, Alastair is the perfect choice to present our Awards, and we look forward to an entertaining presentation with unique insights into the world of politics and frank advice on what it takes to be a successful leader, all delivered in his trademark ‘no punches pulled’ style!”

Smart, witty and never short on opinions, Alastair Campbell was Tony Blair’s right-hand man for ten years, as communications strategist and chief spokesman, often witnessing history in the making. Today, he is an influential voice and commentator on the political stage, notably co-hosting the hit podcast The Rest is Politics with Rory Stewart.

Alastair has written seventeen books, including ten volumes of diaries, four novels, a number one best-selling analysis of what it takes to win in politics, business, and sport, as well as two personal memoirs on depression and the pursuit of happiness.

He has been candid about his personal experiences of depression, alcoholism, and mental illness, frequently examining the links between work, stress, and mental health.

To join UKWA to celebrate excellence in the industry at the Annual Lunch, and to hear from the fascinating and controversial Alistair Campbell, book your tickets at www.ukwa.org.uk/awards-2024
