Over 2,000 exhibitors from 64 countries have registered to take part in the 14th transport logistic, International Exhibition for Logistics, Mobility, IT and Supply Chain Management. That´s 110 more exhibitors than took part in the last event. In terms of exhibition space, too, there has been an increase – the event now encompasses one more hall, bringing the total for 2013 to nine. Taking indoor and outdoor exhibition space together, transport logistic is a 110,000 square-meter showcase for the products and services of companies all along the value-added chain in the sector. transport logistic takes place from June 4 to 7, 2013 in Munich.
“The logistics sector is facing many challenges in the coming years, among them how best to serve the urban areas of the future and how to guarantee a secure delivery chain. transport logistic is an opportunity for those engaged in the logistics business to meet and talk with colleagues from home and abroad and explore a range of solutions,” said Eugen Egetenmeir, Managing Director of Messe München.
The increase of over 110 exhibitors is accounted for mainly by interest from abroad: the proportion of exhibitors from outside Germany at transport logistic is now around 45.3 percent. There has been a significant rise in interest from Lithuania, which now has almost twice as many exhibitors here than last time. Also noticeably higher is the number of exhibitors from Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. And taking part for the first time are countries like Albania, Indonesia, Macedonia and Zimbabwe. Generally the trend is towards joint stands. Fourteen national pavilions are being put on this year. These include stands from Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
New this year is the cooperation with Deutsche Messe of Hannover. Over 100 companies from the intralogistics sector will be putting on a presentation in the CeMAT@transport logistic Hall (B1). Many intralogistics suppliers will be taking part in transport logistic for the first time this year. These include leading manufacturers such as Beumer, Clark, Hänel, Jungheinrich, Still and Toyota. In this segment, on day one of the show, the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Awards 2013 will be presented for the first time at transport logistic.
“Intralogistics is the driving force behind logistics, and in Munich there will be new technologies and solutions on display in this area. The International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY), presented on the first day of the show, highlights the innovation capabilities of the sector and points the way towards CeMAT 2014,” said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Board Member of Deutsche Messe AG.
The diverse themes and challenges currently facing the international logistics industry will be taken up in the in-depth supporting program that accompanies the show. One highlight will be the opening on the first day of the event, on Tuesday, June 4, from 11:00 to 12:30 in the forum in Hall A6. As well as an opening address by Germany´s Minister of Transport, Dr. Peter Ramsauer, participants can look forward to a high-caliber panel discussion on the subject of “Trends and Strategies in Logistics”.
