Mar 15, 2015 Warehousing Ireland News Comments Off on Smyths Toys chooses ZetesAthena to offer Click & Collect service in 80 stores
Smyths Toys, a leading independent toy retailer with a network of 80 stores across Ireland and the UK, has chosen the ZetesAthena in-store management solution to operate an efficient Click & Collect service for shoppers. The solution guarantees that goods reserved online will be ready for collection in store just 60 minutes later. In addition, Zetes will also implement mobile device services and support, plus deploy a wireless infrastructure into all Smyths Toys’ stores in Ireland and the UK.
ZetesAthena is a comprehensive solution for the creation, storage and cloud-based deployment of in-store management applications. It is designed to enable retailers to efficiently manage traditionally time-consuming inventory management and administration processes, using the latest mobile technology and real-time data capture. Powered by the MCL Mobility Platform, ZetesAthena is offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, which can be implemented quickly, with applications managed centrally and easily, without the need for high capital investment.
Smyths Toys uses SAP as its ERP system, which has been integrated with ZetesAthena and the shopping cart technology used to capture online orders. ZetesAthena manages the entire Click & Collect process: once an online order is placed, store staff receive an alert to pick the item(s). The order is then labelled with the customer’s details and put away in a dedicated location for Click & Collect. When the customer collects his order and pays for it in the store, the ZetesAthena system prints a receipt that supports the returns process.
ZetesAthena is powered by the MCL Mobility Platform, a unique Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP), which is dedicated to supply chain process execution. It allows organisations to build, deploy, run and manage mobile applications faster and from virtually anywhere, regardless of operating system (OS) or mobile device. Using the MCL Mobility Platform means organisations can take advantage of a ‘build once deploy to many’ approach, reaping all the benefits of mobility, but without the associated complexity.
“After exploring the third party solutions available to enable us to quickly launch a Click & Collect service, it was clear that ZetesAthena offers a very cost efficient solution. Its cloud-based approach allows us to easily add new stores and functionality as the network of Smyths Toys retail outlets continues to grow,” says Rob Wilson, Chief Technical Officer at Smyths Toys.
“We are delighted to be working with Smyths Toys and their commitment to Zetes verifies our strategy to empower our mobile solutions with a cloud-based mobile enterprise mobility platform tailored for supply chain processes. This deployment is an excellent illustration of how fast-growing independent retailers can access the latest retail technologies without incurring the cost of managing an expensive IT infrastructure,” says Robert van Vliet, Country Manager, Zetes Ireland.
