FB Chain Ltd has announced that it is now able to supply replacement chain for the range of 20-50 tonne capacity forklift trucks manufactured by leading heavy truck specialist Kalmar.
The chain – which has a breaking load of up to 120 tonnes and weighs as much as 30kg per metre – is supplied cut to length and is available for next day delivery within the UK
“Chain is safety critical and it is vitally important to specify the right product every time but, when the chain is to be used on a forklift that is carrying up to 50 tonnes in weight, safety becomes an even higher priority,” says Peter Church, managing director of FB Chain Ltd.
He continues: “To ensure the safety of our products we use only high quality materials, press tooling and heat treatment techniques as well as corrosion resistant coatings and lubrication in the production process.”
Kalmar is the world’s leading supplier of cargo handling equipment to ports, terminals and intermodal facilities. The company also supplies a range of machines for applications as diverse as handling steel and paper to shunting road trailers at distribution hubs.
Peter Church adds: “In the kind of applications where Kalmar’s heavy duty trucks operate, downtime caused by the need to replace a dangerously worn chain can be extremely expensive. Our ability to offer next day delivery is therefore likely to appeal to lift truck dealers and truck operators alike.”
FB Chain has been a leading manufacturer of chain and mast components to the forklift truck industry for over 25 years
