Jan 10, 2016 Warehousing Ireland Events, Materials Handling, News Comments Off on Narrow Aisle showing a range of space saving intralogistics solutions at LogiMAT
Visitors to the forthcoming LogiMAT Exhibition will be able to see the extensive range of intralogistics solutions designed and built by leading UK-based materials handling technology specialist, Narrow Aisle Ltd.
Narrow Aisle Ltd is perhaps best known for its Flexi range of articulated forklift trucks. There are more than 5,000 Flexis built by the company in operation at diverse installations in all parts of the world and the truck’s popularity is due, in part, to the fact that it is able to work at the same speed as a counterbalance forklift truck and operate comfortably and safely within very narrow aisles.
Flexi technology enables storage capacity to be increased by up to 30 per cent and throughput increased by 25% when compared to handling solutions based around conventional reach-type trucks.
Narrow Aisle Ltd recently introduced an entry-level Flexi AC NANO model to their range and it will be among the solutions highlighted at LogiMAT 2016.
Visitors to the Narrow Aisle stand at LogiMAT 2016 will also be able to learn about the FlexiPiCK – a new layer quantity order picking system that typically allows over 1000 cases per hour to be picked by one operator.
The FlexiPiCK allows users to take advantage of the increasingly popular layer quantity order picking technology pioneered in the USA – but without the need to invest in high fixed cost guided or automated handling technology that previous layer picking systems have relied upon.
The Flexi StorMAX system, yet another new concept in space saving storage solutions from Narrow Aisle, will also be demonstrated.
The StorMAX is a warehouse management system-based storage solution that, in comparison with storage systems served by conventional reach trucks, allows an amazing 50 per cent more pallet locations to be achieved within the dimensions of a store. Narrow Aisle believe that it represents the most effective storage solution on the market for companies that wish to maximize volume. It is on a par with block stacking / drive-in racking-based systems but does not come with the kind of product selectivity and productivity issues sometimes associated with those storage methods.
Recent projects undertaken in the UK, UAE and Italy have shown that the high-density StorMAX system requires significantly fewer truck assets to achieve higher pallet throughput speeds than storage solutions that feature, say, automated pallet ‘Shuttle’ technology.
Of course, StorMAX technology enables smaller warehouse facilities to be used to accommodate contracts than had previously been possible.
A company synonymous with high quality, ultra-efficient products, Narrow Aisle has earned a reputation for exceptional product reliability and customer service across the world.
To find out how Narrow Aisle’s range of space saving materials handling solutions can bring significant operational efficiencies to your business visit the company’s stand at LogiMAT 2016.
