On September 4th Jungheinrich opened its new training centre located at the plant site in Norderstedt, Germany. Taking a total of 12 months, the construction project had an investment volume of approx. EUR 7.5 million. Occupying nearly 8,000 square metres of space, the new centre consists of several different components: a renovated older building, a converted hall and two newly built halls. The Jungheinrich Training Centre will serve as a central training venue for staff members and customers.
A four-storey administration building and hall complex boasts spacious room facilities for theoretical training, with directly adjoining practice areas. Workshops on electric and IC engine powered Jungheinrich industrial trucks will be conducted in separate hall areas. A 12-metre high hall will moreover enable practical exercises using logistic system equipment.
The training complex is complemented by a state-of-the-art conference storey which includes a production studio for e-learning concepts. In the words of Thomas C. The Hamburg-based construction planning agency pbr Planungsbüro Rohling was responsible for the overall planning of the demolition and renovation work as well as the new construction projects.
