As part of its ongoing commitment to raise the profile of the logistics industry among young people, IMHX 2019 (the International Materials Handling Exhibition; NEC, Birmingham; September 24-27, 2019) is offering a cash prize to the team of students that devises the most impressive way of reducing online returns in a free-to-enter competition that is open to schools and colleges across the West Midlands.
Delivered in association with Learn by Design and Think Logistics, ‘Delivering Promises: How to Solve the Returns Problem in Logistics’ is part of The Big Bang programme of UK-wide events that aim to get students excited about science, technology and engineering.
At a high profile ceremony at IMHX 2019, the winning team will be presented with a cheque for £750 to be shared among the students, while the runners up, third and fourth-placed entries will receive £350, £250 and £150 respectively.
The competition is part of a series of events that will be a feature of Big Bang @ IMHX – an area within the IMHX show dedicated to highlighting the opportunities available to graduates and school leavers within the supply chain sector.
Rob Fisher, IMHX 2019 Show Director, commented: “The logistics and supply chain sectors need ever-increasing and changing skills to keep Britain moving. ‘Delivering Promises: How to Solve the Returns Problem in Logistics’ is one of a number of initiatives we are organising in the run up to the show in association with a number of stakeholder partners designed to encourage young people to consider a career in the logistics sector.”
A tri-annual event, the International Materials Handling Exhibition is the largest and longest running exhibition in the UK for the logistics and supply chain industries. Over 400 companies are expected to exhibit at IMHX 2019 showing the biggest array of intralogistics and supply chain solutions under one roof in the UK.
