Mar 10, 2019 Warehousing Ireland Logistics, Materials Handling Comments Off on Combilift chooses the right trailer from Cartwright
One of the fastest growing forklift manufacturers, Combilift Ltd is seeing an increased efficiency in the delivery of its products after choosing Cartwright trailers.
Combilift, based at their new production facility and global headquarters in Monaghan, recently took delivery of its first step frame forklift curtainsider trailer from Cartwright.
Combilift’s range incorporates multi-directional forklifts, side loaders, narrow aisle trucks and pedestrian stackers. The current yearly output stands at around 6,000 units, which are exported to 85 countries. The new trailer, which has been built to the high standard for which Cartwright products are renowned, will be used for transporting products around Ireland for delivering customer orders or for product demonstrations so reliability and longevity is key.
The move away from using a standard trailer was prompted partly by the continued diversification of Combilift’s range and the need for a vehicle that could cope with the varying sizes and wheel configurations of its models. These range from small one tonne walk-behind trucks to heavy duty three wheel, four-way forklifts with capacities of up to 25 tonnes.
Andy Jarvis of the Cartwright Group commented: “Combilift is well known in its sector for the high level of customisation it offers to its clients and we worked closely with the team in Monaghan to ensure that our trailer was also customised to meet its bespoke requirements for example, the internal ramp length was extended to create shallow angle to allow clear entry and exit of the Combi-lift WR-4 machine.”
The trailer will be operating on a daily basis and depending on customer orders, it can accommodate up to eight walk behind models, four Aisle Master articulated narrow aisle trucks, three four-tonne multidirectional models or two side loaders.
“This is a more efficient way of delivering the goods compared with using a standard loader and ensures that our products are clean and in perfect condition when they arrive at their destination,” said a Combilift spokesperson.
